Are egg noodles a low FODMAP food?
Egg noodles are a form of long pasta made from eggs and cooked until tender and soft (Masterclass, 2021). Egg noodles are typically found in grocery stores as wide yellow noodles, dried and prepared in boiling water. Perfect added to soups, bakes, or stir-fries, egg noodles are a staple of Asian cuisine.
They are flour-based and therefore contain wheat, which is high in the FODMAPs fructose and fructan, according to the Monash University Low FODMAP Diet app.

What are the health benefits of egg noodles?
Like typical white pasta, egg noodles have often been “enriched,” meaning vitamins and minerals, such as selenium and B vitamins thiamin and folate, are added in during processing (Link, 2021). Unfortunately, egg noodles are high in calories and carbohydrates but do not contain as much fiber as you would get from whole-grain noodles or pasta, for example.
Noodles are often topped with high-calorie cheeses, sauces, and more. However, they can still be a part of a balanced diet in moderation.
