PREP:10 mins COOK:40 mins SERVINGS:2 Level:Easy
From your meal kit
½ lb Penne
2 Italian Sausages
1 Tbsp Black Olives
¼ Maui Onion
1 clove Garlic
14 oz Tomato Sauces
1 Tsp Sugar
½ cup Half And Half
¾ cup Parmesan
From your pantry
1 Olive OilCracked Black Pepper
Cooking Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Cook ½ lb penne pasta in a large pot of water according to package instructions, then grease a baking dish with non-stick cooking spray.

2. While penne cooks, heat a saucepan or pot over medium heat. Add 1 tsp olive oil and brown 2 sliced Italian sausages (removed from casings), breaking them up into smaller pieces with your spoon. Remove and set aside.

3. Add ¼ chopped onion and 1 clove minced garlic, and cook until softened, about 2 minutes. Add 14 oz can tomato sauce, scraping the bottom of the pot to lift the bits of sausage. Then add ½ cup half and half, 1 Tbsp chopped olives, 1 tsp sugar and simmer for 20 minutes.

4. Add the cooked sausage back into the pot, and stir to combine. Season with pepper to taste.

5. Add cooked penne to pot, and stir to combine with the tomato sauce. Sprinkle with ¾ cup parmesan cheese and gently stir.

6. Pour pasta into a baking dish, cover with foil and bake for 15 minutes. Then remove foil, and sprinkle with 2 Tbsp of parmesan cheese and bake until cheese has melted.
