YIELD: 4 SERVINGS
This easy-to-make protein snack only takes minutes. The result is spiced maple-sweet candied nuts that would be a gift of love for anyone.
INGREDIENTS:
1 cup walnuts
1 cup pecans
1 tbsp Casa de Sante low FODMAP certified seasoning of choice
1 cup maple syrup
INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Preheat the oven to 325°F.
2. Mix the nuts, seasoning and maple syrup together in a medium bowl. Make sure that each nut has been coated well. Spread out on a baking sheet so they are in one layer but still close to each other. Touching is okay. Bake for 7 minutes.
3. Remove from oven and flip with a spatula. They can overlap some at this point. Put back in the oven and bake another 6 minutes or so. Watch closely. If they’re in too long, they start to burn quickly.
4. Take the baking sheet out of the oven, flip the nuts again, and let cool completely. Eat right away or pack in an airtight container. These nuts will keep in your pantry for quite a few weeks and will keep in the fridge about 2 to 3 months. The freezer will store them for 6 months.
