This season, skip the store-bought sweets and dive into this protein-packed Low FODMAP Protein Yule Log Cake Recipe!
It will please not only your gut, but your taste buds too and feed your muscles as well! Perfect low FODMAP dessert for the holidays!
INGREDIENTS:
To make our Low FODMAP Protein Yule Log Cake, you will need the following:
FOR THE CAKE:
- 4 egg whites
- ¼ cup Low FODMAP Chocolate Protein Powder
- 1 ½ tbsp cocoa
- 2 tbsp oat flour
FOR THE FILLING:
- ¼ cup Greek 0% or 2% yogurt
- ¼ cup Low FODMAP Vanilla Protein Powder by Casa de Sante or Low FODMAP Vegan Protein Powder (for Vegans)
- ¼ cup lactose free milk (or plant milk)
- 1 ½ tbsp cocoa
FOR THE TOPPING:
- 3/8 cup lactose free milk (or plant milk)
DIRECTIONS:
To make our Low FODMAP Protein Yule Log Cake, follow these steps:
- Blend the cake ingredients together and bake the batter on a flat brownie tray at 180 C (356F) for about five minutes (yup, it only takes about five minutes to cook) - until it’s nice and firm.
- Let it cool.
- Then, mix all your filling ingredients together and slather them onto one side of the chocolate cake.
- Then, roll it (it’s OK if it breaks a bit).
- To make the topping, simply mix all the topping ingredients together in a bowl and, with a spoon or spatula, layer it on top of the log.
- Finally, garnish it, slice it, and enjoy its creamy center against the dark chocolate ‘bark’ of the log!
NUTRITIONAL INFORMATION:
- Per one slice out of six: 122.3 cal, 16.2g protein, 6.8g carbs, 3.3g fat,and 2.3g fiber.
