#1. Slow down when you eat.

But if you eat this way, there’s going to be hell to pay later on. If you eat too quickly, your stomach cannot digest your food quickly enough, which can lead to indigestion. But if you slow it down, and you make that meal last for 20 minutes instead of five, it’ll be much easier on your digestive system.
#2. Eater smaller meals.
The easier you can make the digestive process on your body, the fewer IBS symptoms you’ll experience. One of the ways you can be kinder to your digestive system is not to overload it with large meals. The more you eat in a single meal, the more food your body will have to digest. Many people who have IBS have found that breaking breakfast, lunch and dinner into five or six smaller meals throughout the day helps to lessen some of their symptoms.
#3. Identify your triggers.
Everyone who suffers from IBS experiences it in their own way, and what triggers symptoms in some people may not triggers symptoms in others. For example, some people experience symptoms after they eat certain foods, particularly foods with a lot of fat or fiber, whereas others may experience symptoms after particularly stressful situations. When you can identify what the specific triggers are for your IBS symptoms, it will help you find relief. One of the best ways to determine what your triggers are is to keep a detailed journal of what you eat and how you feel every day.
